SKEPTICISM IN THE INAGURATION OF GONGOLA PEOPLE'S FORUM IN ADAMAWA STATE

By: Adamu Hamza Marree Talum

The inaguration of "Gongola People's Forum" is considered a welcome development in its facial outlook, looking at how people are suffering as a result of incompetent and poor governance in the entire nation, and unappreciative disunity among tribes that trail with it many cultural and communal clashes while live behind some paraphanalias of mistrust among the good people of the targeted States.

Today, common food to eat has become nightmarish to the citizenry, people constantly die as a result of squalor and no immediate responses from the government.

The issue of dwindled and thwarted power in the governing of the nation particularly by the northeast who never produces president in the history of Nigeria is worthed alerming.

But the points of observations are the actors behind the claimed tribal unity that triggered the evolution of the forum still dilly-dallied minds of unaccountable people of the affected states.

I am a young boy of intermediary age but I have to pass this social hypothesis on this strange emergence hatched as "Gongola People's Forum" which stands as unity as it is claimed.

I tried in many ways to relate the forum and its foundation with the original people of Gongola State but the nexus still remains unfathomable and disjointed.

In the publication made by Adamawa New News blog... I have seen the caption of Prof. Jerry Gana of Niger state, General Gawan, Jang of Plateau State, General T.Y Danjuma of Taraba State, Babachir and General Hananiya of Hong local Government of Adamawa State, finally Eng. Markus Gundiri making a public address on the reasons behind the forum.

Actually, among these people mentioned in the news, I couldn't relate the presence of Jang, Gawan, Jerry Gana and some others to the issue of Gongola State whereas they are from Middle Belt.

Based my perochial age, I was able to find out that the then Gongola State consisted of Adamawa and Taraba States before the Babangida reform of 1991 if I am not mistaken.

Most of the national juganeuts mentioned as part of the Gongola People's Forum are from Middle Belt. This questions the sagasity behind the formation of the said Gongola People's Forum at stake.

After all, I have not seen other strong pillers of Adamawa State like Bamanga Tukur, Nyako who was also among veterans, Major Buba Marwa, Prof. Jubril Aminu of renown memory, Malam Nuhu Ribadu and the host of others. To crown it all, the Nigeria Former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar was not spotted in the scene. Are those people not part of the then Gongola that people from Middle Belt will be invited to host such a progressive indaba?

Definitely, the gathering is questionably viewed. Therefore, corrective measures are supposed to be taken because it is like the same set of people come together to form the Forum. That is the perceptions of people outlay in the world not mainly in the group.
